Let’s Just Start Here… 🤍

if you’re worried your kids won’t cooperate during your photo session… you are not alone.

It’s probably the number one thing parents say to me before we even book.

“What if they don’t listen?”

“What if they won’t smile?”

“What if it’s a total disaster?”

And honestly?

…it’s fine. I promise

🤍 Your Kids Don’t Need to “Behave”

I’m not expecting perfectly posed, quiet, smiling children.

I’m expecting:

  • wiggles
  • giggles
  • running
  • snack breaks
  • maybe even a meltdown moment

That’s all part of it.

Some of the best photos come from the in-between moments, the ones you can’t plan.

🍎 A Few Things That Do Help

We’re not aiming for perfection, but a little prep goes a long way:

  • Try to avoid nap time (for everyone’s sake 😅)
  • Feed them beforehand
  • Bring easy, non-messy snacks
  • Pack water

Think: comfortable kids, not controlled kids.

🧸 Yes, You Can Bring the Stuffy

If your little one has a favourite toy or blanket, bring it.

Not only does it help them feel safe, but it also adds a little piece of them into your photos.

(And honestly, those end up being some of the sweetest images.)

🎈 Keep It Low Pressure

You don’t need to give a big pep talk about “smiling nicely.”

Instead, keep it simple: “We’re going to go hang out and play for a bit.”

The less pressure they feel, the more natural everything will be.

🌿 You Don’t Have to “Handle It”

This is a big one.

You don’t need to stress about:

  • getting them to sit still
  • forcing smiles
  • making everything go perfectly

That’s my job! To guide things gently while letting your family just be.

💛 Focus on Connection, Not Control

The magic doesn’t come from perfectly behaved kids.

It comes from:

  • holding their hand
  • pulling them in close
  • laughing when things get a little chaotic

If you’re relaxed, they’ll follow your lead.

✨ The Truth?

The sessions that feel a little wild, a little loud, and a little unpredictable… are almost always the ones that turn into the most meaningful photos.

So if you’re sitting there thinking:

“Yeah but my kids are extra…”

Perfect. I’ve got you. 👌
