Friday: Slow & Simple
Friday was one of those days that just felt easy.
We spent a ton of time outside, letting the kids run around and burn off energy while we soaked up that spring air. No agenda, no rushing, just being together.
Later that night, my husband and I turned our bedroom into what honestly felt like a mini Easter factory.
Filling eggs, sorting candy, trying to keep track of how many we’d done… it was a whole thing.
And then I put together the kids’ baskets! Nothing over the top, just a few fun things I know they’ll be excited about.
Saturday: A Little Bit of Everything
Saturday started with a little Easter shoot with my kids.
Just me trying to capture a few moments (while also being mom at the same time, which is always a juggling act).
After that, we headed out for a hike and spent even more time outside. The kind of day where everyone ends up a little tired, a little messy, and happy.
In the afternoon, I had a session with the cutest family—which I can’t wait to share (keep an eye out for next Sunday’s blog).
Sunday: The Magic for Them
Sunday morning is really the part I look forward to most.
Seeing their excitement. The pure joy over something as simple as finding eggs or checking their baskets.
But this year… real life added a little twist. I woke up with a sore throat and a completely stuffed nose, because of course that’s how these things go.
So instead of feeling 100%, it was a slower start for me. Coffee in hand, moving a little more gently, trying to rally while the kids were very ready to start the day.
And honestly? It didn’t take away from the magic.
If anything, it reminded me that these moments don’t have to feel perfect to be meaningful.
We’re not doing a big traditional Easter feast this year.
Instead, we’re making a hot honey shrimp bowl which was highly recommended by a friend, so we’re trusting the process.
And somewhere in between all of that, I’m still hoping to sneak in a nap or two (wish me luck).
From One Busy Mom to Another
If your Easter looks anything like ours: simple, a little messy, and not exactly “picture-perfect”....you’re doing it right.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about what it looks like.
It’s about how it feels.
And those are the moments worth holding onto 💛
